The second novel in The Great Blue Above series follows the shocking conclusion of The City Below. The Dome of Life picks up the tale of survival for the patients sent Above, who find themselves thrust into mortal danger as they learn what it truly means to travel Beyond the Light. Meanwhile, Prince Oliver chooses the person he deems most responsible for the injuries he suffered in the tunnels. The subsequent punishment sets the other survivors on new courses that will forever change the City Below. . .

The Dome of Life The Great Blue Above Book 2 eBook Kevin George

The Dome of Life is an amazing epic story, one that has a great story and focuses on the interactions between characters.

There were so many moments where I couldn't tell if a character would live or die. There were a lot of really tense moments overall and many times when I wanted to reach through the Kindle screen and shake/slap some of the characters. This mostly occurred when I saw glimpses that certain characters were going to turn over a new leaf, or realise something that was obvious to me as a reader ... but then they of course made questionable choices. Those questionable choices, however, always made sense for each character in the situation they were in. You just need to think about it from their point of view.

I think a very interesting discussion point would be, "Who did you want to be a nice person, but they didn't turn out like that?" I certainly know who I would vote for, but no spoilers here!

The world's background slowly and teasingly unfolds while reading the story. Overall it's a good thing that we only get the information slowly; this increases the number of books that could be written in the series!

The first book contained a lot of setup, telling us about the City Below and getting us used to the characters and the conventions. This story doesn't need to spend time on those details, so we have a lot more interesting events occurring. It's still a fairly slow burn, nice and consistent pacing, but it thoroughly kept my attention. If you liked the first book, and I'm sure you did because you wouldn't be reading this review otherwise, this book takes everything that's good about the first book and ramps it up a notch or three. It's quite dark. There's hopeful moments but not that many happy moments. There's a lot of suspense and a lot of character interaction.

Top class book, one of the best I've read. I greatly look forward to the next part in the series!

The Dome of Life The Great Blue Above Book 2 eBook Kevin George Reviews

I loved this book and cannot wait for the third book to come out. It is easy to become immersed in the world created in the story. There are a lot of characters in this series, but it's still easy to navigate. Hopefully I will not have to wait too long for the next book!
It was phenomenally written. The action kept me on edge. I was happy about some events and saddened by others. It definitely will hold your interest.
This book is amazing. Is fear, greed and power the only way to rule. Why do friends turn on each other, why do total strangers help each other. The results of going into the light show how difficult life is for both citizens of the below and the dome. The struggles and suspense from chapter to chapter makes it difficult to put this book down. What happens to Isaac and Artie. Is life in the dome any better than life below? Is white nothingness and the unknown better than the comforts of life below? I cannot wait for the next book to follow the lives and struggles of the characters I have come to know.
In this, the second book of The Great Blue Above series, Kevin George continues to engage and entertain his readers with his very fine story telling. We see the characters from the first book (The City Below) continue their respective journeys, both literal and metaphorical, through the very imaginative situations that are so characteristic of Mr. George's writing. We slowly learn a bit more about the history behind the story, and it is enticing. There are other elements which remain mysterious to us; Mr. George never gives too much away at a time, and so this amazing story keeps drawing the reader on. As in The City Below and the Comet Clement series, there are several plot lines, and Mr. George, as is his way, always makes a smooth transition from one story line to another. I highly recommend this book, and the previous one in the series, to anyone who enjoys a good, long, but never boring, story by a very fine author.
The development of this story and evolution is an amazing journey. The parallels to life and society at present are veiled more at first, becoming more than intriguing as they blossom and as the novel unfurls. You are taken down a path that is both thought provoking and rewarding reading. Thank you!
The dome seems like uptopia, but is it?
I love sci-fi, paranormal, and anything close! This but keeps you wanting more. One minute you get angry at one of the characters and close the book. Then a minute later you pick it right back up cussing that person and reading on. I'm a slow reader so my feelings have been up and down. If you like adventure, excitement, mystery, and a story than can make you think "what if," then this series is for you! I can't wait for the next book love it!!!!
